Omaha Halloween dry, but heavy rain hits Monday
Trick-or-treaters face minimal disruption Saturday, while a low-pressure system brings intense rain and potential severe weather to the area by Tuesday.

Central Nebraska residents can step outside Saturday without checking the sky, but a more serious weather pattern arrives later in the week. Local meteorologists report that the bulk of Saturday’s precipitation falls after 9 p.m., missing the peak hours for trick-or-treating. This timing leaves the afternoon dry and quiet, allowing families to move through their routes without major interruptions from rain or storms.
The forecast shows scattered showers and isolated storms during the overnight window into early Sunday morning. Rain continues through midday, but conditions stabilize for much of the afternoon. Another potential shower round is possible in the evening, though the primary threat is not the Halloween night weather itself.
A low-pressure system combined with an upper-level disturbance targets the region Monday and Tuesday. This combination is expected to produce heavy rain and may trigger severe weather. Meteorologists note that no formal severe weather outlook is currently in effect, but they are tracking the system closely as it approaches the area.
Temperatures will shift once the system passes. Highs will sit in the mid to upper 60s Fahrenheit through Monday. Afterward, the air dries out and cools, dropping to the mid to upper 50s Fahrenheit for the rest of the early part of next week. The contrast between the wet, warm days and the cooler, dry period following the storm will define the weather for the start of November.
