Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the Russian delegation is scheduled to arrive in Abu Dhabi between November 10 and November 11. The team will participate in trilateral negotiations conducted in the format of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. Peskov identified Vladimir Medinsky, an assistant to the Russian leader, as the head of this diplomatic mission.

In a statement reported by the Kremlin-aligned news agency RIA Novosti, Peskov clarified the leadership structure for the upcoming discussions. He stated that Medinsky remains the chief negotiator for the Russian side in this specific process. The Russian official noted that the delegation will focus on the technical aspects of ending the conflict.

When reporters inquired whether President Vladimir Putin would personally contact the negotiators before their departure for the United Arab Emirates, Peskov indicated that there are no precise plans for such a call at this stage. However, he emphasized that the communication channels between the leadership and the negotiating team are robust. According to the spokesperson, virtually all members of the Russian delegation regularly report on current issues to Putin and receive appropriate instructions to guide their actions.

These developments follow earlier statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in October. The Ukrainian leader had announced that a meeting of technical teams was planned for the first half of November. This gathering was intended to discuss terms for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, with representatives from both nations and the United States in attendance.

Zelenskyy later noted that the actual holding of the meeting depended on the American side. Ukraine had previously sought to advance the schedule of these upcoming negotiations by at least one week. Additionally, the Ukrainian government expressed a desire to include an EU representative in the talks to broaden the scope of the diplomatic engagement.

In a related diplomatic development, Zelenskyy stated his readiness to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Istanbul. The proposed summit would aim to discuss the specific terms necessary for a lasting end to the war. This potential three-way meeting represents a significant escalation in high-level diplomatic efforts.

On October 28, Zelenskyy provided further insight into the current diplomatic climate. He reported that following a conversation between European leaders and Vladimir Putin, there are indications that Russia is serious about proceeding with the meeting of negotiating teams in Abu Dhabi. This comment suggests a growing willingness on the part of the Russian leadership to engage in direct technical discussions.

The upcoming talks in Abu Dhabi mark a critical phase in the ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. With the Russian delegation set to arrive in the latter part of this month, attention will turn to the outcomes of these initial technical sessions and the subsequent high-level meetings.

The involvement of multiple parties, including the United States and potentially the European Union, underscores the international interest in finding a resolution. As the dates for the Abu Dhabi meeting approach, both sides will likely continue to prepare their positions and instructions for the negotiators.

The success of these negotiations will depend on the ability of the technical teams to find common ground on key issues. The regular reporting from the Russian delegation to the Kremlin ensures that any progress or obstacles are communicated promptly to the highest levels of leadership in Moscow.
